Interlingua Language School MiLC, based in the beautiful Western Isles of Scotland, aims to make you a better speaker of English.  Our unique approach is to offer both classroom-based learning and fun, cultural activities outside the classroom.

We are based in the town of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis which is centred around the busy harbour dominated by Lews Castle.  Our School is located beside the castle in the modern campus of the University of the Highlands and Islands (www.lews.uhi.ac.uk).

With only 5,000 of a population, Stornoway is big enough to make many friends (both locals and people from around the world) and take part in the many community activities.  Outside Stornoway, small villages and vast beaches line the coast of the Isle of Lewis. The first reference to a name similar to the modern "Hebrides" is by Ptolemy , who called the islands Αἱβοῦδαι ( Haiboudai ) in Ancient Greek . Once you get to know us you will become an honorary Hebridean.

Our caring teachers and staff will ensure that you are welcomed and settled in as soon as you arrive. We know that you are coming to learn English but we also want you to have an adventure as you explore what our island has to offer.  For part of the day you will be attending English classes, and then exploring the island.  Evenings are for sport and music or just practising your spoken English with your new friends.

Interlingua Language School MiLC actively encourages your participation in our community. This is one of the best ways of learning English and will improve your confidence in spoken English.  Exploring our music, history and culture by attending events and clubs is a fun way to meet people and enjoy your Hebridean adventure!
